Frequently Asked Questions

Can I carry Stun Guns or TASER®  devices in my car?
Different areas might have different regulations. Please contact your local law enforcement or sheriff's office and they should be able to tell you over the phone.

How does a TASER®  device work?
When you purchase a TASER
® device, it doesn't matter which model you buy, they all work the same. The defense devices that are offered on my site is a self-defense electronic control device which uses propelled wires to conduct energy to affect the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. In addition, the C2 TASER® branded product can be used as a direct contact stun device. The device uses a replaceable cartridge, containing compressed nitrogen, to deploy two small probes that are attached to the device by insulated conductive wires with a maximum length of 15 feet (4.5 meters). The energy can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing or one inch per probe.

What are the after effects of a TASER® device?
A person hit with any one of these devices will feel dazed for several minutes. The pulsating electrical output causes involuntary muscle contractions causing a feeling sense of vertigo. It can momentarily stun or render an attacker unconscious. Yet, the TASER
® devices low electrical amperage and short duration of pulsating current ensures a non-lethal charge. A TASER® device does not cause permanent damage or long-term after effects to muscles, nerves or other body functions. A January 1987 Annals of Emergency Medicine study reported this technology leaves no long term injuries compared with a 50% long term injuries for gun shots.

What if the TASER® device probes miss?

The TASER®  branded devices can be used in a touch-stun mode. The user is thus provided with a final backup if the probes miss the target. Should the user miss or engage a second attacker, he can touch the unit directly to the target and it will work like a powerful touch-stun device.

How long does the background check take for the TASER® branded products?
It should take 24 hours or less.

How does a stun gun work?
Stun guns use high voltage and low amperage to temporarily disable an attacker for several minutes. Stun gun does not rely on pain for results. The energy stored in the gun is dumped into the attacker’s muscles causing them to do a great deal of work rapidly. This rapid work cycle instantly depletes the attacker’s blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid. In short, he is unable to produce energy for his muscles, and his body is unable to function properly. The stun gun also interrupts the tiny neurological impulses that control and direct voluntary muscle movement. When the attacker’s neuromuscular system is overwhelmed and controlled by the stun gun he loses his balance. Should the attacker be touching you, the current will NOT pass to your body!

What voltage is recommended when purchasing a stun gun?
Since higher voltage means faster immobilization, it also means the current passes through more layers of clothing. It is recommend that you buy as high a voltage as you can afford.
