After the TASER® is delivered to you, you will need to register the device to activate it. You will do this by calling an 800 number or doing it online. This only takes a couple of minutes and full instructions come with your order. It costs $9.95. It is a background check, so you might not want to bother ordering a TASER® device if you have a criminal background.
To promote responsible ownership and prevent misuse, your new TASER® device will function only after the owner completes a background check. Purchasers must be 18 years or older. C2 TASER® cartridges have a unique serial number and are equipped with Anti-felon Identification tags, allowing law enforcement to track a potential misuse. These AFID tags are dispersed upon deployment of the weapon.
C2 TASER® energy weapons are not considered firearms, they're legal to carry in most states without permits (including California). Restricted from citizen use in MA, RI, NY, NJ, WI, MI, HI and certain cities and counties.
